AIRCRAFT SCAVENGER PUMP
Aircraft scavenger pumps located in the engine of jet aircrafts drain oil from various parts of the engine. S.S. White Flexible Shafts can operate at 800°F and 7450 rpm. The particular Flexible Shaft used in this application drives a lubrication scavenger pump on an aircraft jet engine. Made from Inconel, it handles a normal load of 1/3 to 1/2 hp and must operate at temperatures ranging from -65°F to +800°F.
F100 VANE ACTUATION SYSTEM - AFTERBURNER NOZZLE CONTROL
An afterburner is comprised of a set of fuel injectors, a tube, a flame holder that the fuel burns in, and an adjustable nozzle. A jet engine with an afterburner needs an adjustment nozzle to turn the afterburners on and off. The S.S. White Flexible Shaft provides positive, mechanically synchronized control of this actuator system controlling the afterburner nozzle.
